Week of August 28th - PRAY!!!

tommy75hutchins

I did not get to travel to Maplesville Friday night for the first official football game of the year. I wanted to keep up with it, so I logged into NFHS to watch the game at my home. I’m not sure if it was fog from the humid air, but whatever it was made it almost impossible to see. I basically spent most of the game following blobs of color. I could not read most of the numbers, so I had no idea which players were doing what. Based on crowd reaction and which way the white and red blobs moved I could kind of make out what was going on. However, there were a few times I would text people that I knew were at the game to confirm what was happening.

Over the weekend I thought a lot about that. I try to be the Meek person like I should and submit to God’s will, but sometimes I just don’t understand it. Things happen in my life that to me don’t make sense. My vision of what is going on is hazy, kind of like my vision of the game Friday night. That is when I realized I should be doing the same thing I did Friday night. Talk to someone who knows for sure. Proverbs Chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 reads as follows: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths.” When I don’t understand what is going on, I should be talking (praying) to the one who does. When I couldn’t make out what was happening on the field Friday night, I would talk to someone who knew, why not do that with my life. I may not understand the path God has laid out for me, but I can talk to Him about it and more importantly trust Him with it.

Weekly Challenge: Pray! Talk to God about the direction your life is headed. You may be going through a rough patch, could be smooth sailing or somewhere in the middle. Regardless, God has a plan for you so why not talk to him about it?
